The revision of the Jamaican System of National Accounts is based on the United Nations System of National Accounts ( SNA). This appendix presents a description of the conceptual framework for the national accounts system and briefly outlines the sources used in the compilation of the national accounts.

Core accounts for the UK economy as a whole; individual sectors (sector accounts); accounts for the regions, subregions and local areas of the UK; and satellite accounts that cover activities linked to the economy. The national accounts framework brings units and transactions together to provide a simple and understandable description of production, income, consumption, accumulation and wealth.

The System of National Accounts (SNA) is the internationally agreed standard set of recommendations on how to compile measures of economic activity.
